We are planning for an Ecology park in Malpura Dadabadi. In fact, Concept of environment and ecology is inbuilt in the concept of Dadabadi. The word "Badi" is derived from Sanskrit word "Batika" that means garden. Hence, the garden is an integral part of a Dadabadi. We can see the word "Temple Garden" in Kolkata Dadabadi. 

Temples and Dadabadis in Azimganj and Kathgola are nice examples.  Most of the older Dadabadis were built outside the township along with a garden.

Ahimsa, non-violence, is the basic principle of Jainism.  Jain believe in saving even tiny creatures. What about saving an entire species? Species conservation is most shouted slogan in the world. I always had a belief that Dadabadi can play a pivotal role in conserving species and environment. It will spread teachings of Lord Mahavira and Dadagurudev. Work speaks louder and words.

Hence, Sri Jain Shwetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur is planning to develop a ecology park at Malpura Dadabadi. in fact, we have already started working on this direction. We will go for water conservation and plantation in the first phase. It will substantially add to water and oxygen resources.

We are in consultation with several agencies for design and development of the ecology park. First time in the world, a Dadabadi is being engaged in such work. We are putting our best efforts.

Jain philosophy is far ahead of modern physics

" Jain philosophy is far ahead of modern physics and has solution to many unsolved problems of modern physics", said Jyoti Kothari. He told this in the welcome address to Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi at Malpura Dadabadi.

Jyoti Kothari, was addressing Dr. Joshi, professor of physics. He told that the whole Jain canon is divided into four parts Dravyanuyoga, Charananuyoga, Kathanuyoga and Ganitanuyoga, where Dravyanuyoga is very similar to modern physics and Ganitanuyoga refers to mathematics. He told that there is a lot about uncertainty theorem of Heisenberg in Jainism. He added that a Jain canon Visheshavashyaka Bhashya describes about gravitational force, the weak interaction. The Jain canon describes it in way of space time curve. It is not only similar but beyond the modern theory of gravitational force. He urged that research and study of Visheshavashyaka Bhashya may unfold many mistries. It can answer many unsolved questions of modern physics.

Jyoti Kothari went beyond and discussed about Einstein Podolski Rozen effect on electron spindle. He told that several Jain canons likes of Bhagwati Sutra, Pannavana Sutra and Tatvartha Sutra talk about velocity of subtle sub atomic particles. These Jain canons describe velocity of these subtle particles beyond speed of light. Study of these materials may throw light on solving unsolved problems of the effect.

He insisted Jain society to start research on modern physics in the light of Jain philosophy. He requested Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi to guide this project and to motivate his students to carry out these researches.

He informed that Sri Jain Shwetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur has taken an initiative to start a Jain University. Jain Research and Study Center is already established under this project.

On way to Nalanda and Taksheela

Remember Nalanda, Taksheela or Vikramsheela? These were the universities which made India "Vishvaguru". Teachers of these universities taught wonderful doctrines which guided the then public administrations, economy, culture and the society at large. Large numbers of talented overseas students used to come to these universities to enhance their knowledge and enlighten themselves with Indian wisdom.

We all know that India was not only teacher of the world at that time but also the most wealthy and mighty state in the world. Knowledge and wisdom brought the wealth and power. Philosophy and spirituality governed all these.

Jainism is an old and powerful religion enriched with its vast literature. We posses immense treasure of art and sculpture in beautiful Jain temples. We have astonishing architecture of Ranakpur, oldest miniature paintings in Kalpasutra and lucid languages likes of Ardha- Magadhi and Shaursheni Prakrit.

We have traditions of Tirthankars and their descendants; monarchs likes of Shrenika, the Bhambhasara, Kharvel and Kumarpala; Ministers such as Abhaykumar, Udayan and Bhamashah; Merchants likes of Dhanna, Shalibhadra, Khema-Dedrani and Jagat seth.

However, we failed all the above mentioned to bring forth into limelight. The world at large knows a little about Jain and Jainism, its philosophy, culture, literature.... and so on. We have not done enough to establish Jainism as a scientific religion.

We endeveour to establish a Jain Research and Study Center at Jaipur which will take shape with time as an university like Nalanda, Taksheela or Vikramsheela. We can hope that this university will serve to the mission  to achieve our goals.

Shivjiram Ji Maharaj: Unknown history of a great Jain monk

Sri Shivjiram Ji Maharaj was a great Jain monk of 19th century. A little known about him. Head quarter of Sri Jain Shwetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur is named Shivjiram Bhawan after him. However, there was nothing known about him nor there was a photograph.

Few years back Tunkalia family of Jaipur, who were closed to Shivjiram Ji Maharaj donated a his picture and since then people could see his face. Sri Prem Singh Ji Tunkalia of the said family shown me few historical documents about him. I could take a glance of those documents and have drawn some conclusion out of those. Mr. Tunkalia promised me to provide photo copies of all these for further study.

 Conclusions are as follows:
1. Shivjiram Ji Maharaj was a Jain monk (Sadhu) and not Yati.
2. He lived between Samvat 1900 and 2000.
3. There are evidences that he lived as monk in Samvat 1926 (1869AD) till 1972 (1915 AD). We neither found his initiation (Deeksha) date or year nor the date of his expiry.
4. He was a great scholar of Jainism and had strong character.
5. He was famous among Jain community and a honorable saint.
6. He lived mostly in Jaipur. However, we have got evidences of his Ajmer, Kishangadh, Pali and Nawanagar chaturmas.
7. One of his disciple was Sri Chidanand.
8 He was contemporary to Sri Atmaram Ji Maharaj and Pravartini Sri Punya Sri Ji.

We would like to take a research project about his life history under Jain Research and Study Center. We would request Mahopadhyay Sri Vinaysagar ji and eminent Jain historian Dr. Shiv Prasad to take this project in their hands.

Dr. Sushma Singhvi described Arihant Parmesthi

Dr. Sushma Singhvi, Chair person, Rajasthan Sanskrit Academy described "Arihant Parmesthi" as Chief speaker at Shivji Ram Bhawan on Sunday, July 8. Shri Jain Shwetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur has been organizing a lecture series on Panch Parmeshthi. 

July 8, was the first day of the lecture series and Dr. Sushma Singhvi was speaking as Chief speaker. She told that Arihant  is conqueror of all internal enemies such as anger, greed, craving etc. She added that one can be Arihant by observing  any of the twenty virtues known as Vees Sthanak. She emphasized on Ahimsa and Aparigraha as modes of worshiping Arihant. She appealed the audience for interospection, key factor to become an Arihant.

Dr. Sushma Snghvi is an eminent Jain scholar. She was instrumental in collection and publishing of "Aparigraha Vishwa Kosh" and presently working on "Nayachakrasara", a central government project.

There was "Arihant Vandanavali Mahapoojan" before her lecture. Large numbers of people along with eminent scholars and prominent personalities attended the Mahapoojan and the lecture. Sri Manak Chand Golechha, President, Shri Jain Shwetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur, Sri Prakash Chand Surana and Sri Rajendra Bhansali, Convener, Chaturmas committee felicitated Chief guest Sri Lalit Nahta and Sri Sher Singh Rakyan, Presiding dignity, Delhi. Smt. Shobha Golechha felicitated Dr. Sushma Singhvi along with female executive members of the Sangh.

Sri Lakshimal Gautamchand Bothra family (Padmavati group) sponsored the event. Executive members of the Khartar Sangh felicitated the whole Bothra family for sponsoring the event.

  The event was organized in the auspices of .PP Vinay Muni, Mukti Muni and Sushil Muni; and PP Sadhvi Suyasha Sri and Prerna Sri, observing their Chaturmas at Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur.

Jyoti Kothari, Secretary,  Shri Jain Shwetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur moderated the program. He informed that the Sangh is working hard in propagation of Jainism and Jainology. He added that Sangh is sponsoring encouraging researches and studies about Jainism and Jain communities. Sangh has already started facilitating foreign researchers studying Jainism. 

He also informed about the next program of the series. Dr. J B Shah, Director, L D Institute will deliver his lecture on Siddha Parmesthi on July 15.

The program was followed by a group lunch (Sadharmi Vatsalya)

Panch Parmesthi worship and lecture series: Arihant Pad: July 8: Day 1

We are glad to announce that Shri Jain Shwetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur has been organizing Panch Parmesthi worship and lecture series (Five Sundays) at Shivjiram Bhawan, Johri Bazar, Jaipur between July 8 and August 5. We bow in reverence to these five Parmesthi while chanting Navkar Mantra.

We will worship Arihant Pad (Day 1) on July 8, Sunday. The event will start with Arihant Vandanavali Mahapoojan commencing from 7.30 AM. The Pooja will be followed by a lecture describing importance and significance of Arihant Parmesthi, the highest authority in Jainism.

Eminent Jain scholar Dr. Kusum Jain, Rajasthan University will deliver her scholarly lecture especially targeted to the young Jains.

Sri Lalit Nahta, founder President, Jain Shwetambar Kalyanak Tirth trust, New Delhi will be the Chief guest of the event. Sri Sher Singh Rakyan, Trustee, Chhoti Dadabadi, Delhi has kindly consented to preside over the program.

There will be Jap and Tap too to worship Arihant Parmesthi. PP Vinay Muni, Mukti Muni and Sushil Muni; and PP Sadvi Suyasha Sri and Prerna Sri are observing their Chaturmas at Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur. The event will be organized on their auspices. Other Jain nuns present in Jaipur such as PP Sumangala Sri, PP Nirmala Sri, PP Manoranjana Sri, PP Shubhankara Sri, PP Peeyushpoorna Sri etc are also invited in the program.

The program will be followed by Sadharmi Vatsalya (lunch). Sri Lakshimal Gautamchand Bothra family (Padmavati group) has sponsored the event.

Next events of the Panch Parmesthi worship and lecture series will be organized on July 15, 22, 29 and August 5, consecutive Sundays.

This type of program has been organized first time in Jaipur. All Jains are cordially invited.

Robert Stevens, Jain researcher from America is guest in Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur

 Robert Stevens, student of Dr. Brian Brazeal, California state university, Chico has arrived in Jaipur on June 9th  and will be staying in India till August 15th. He is conducting his research currently on Jain food and traditions. He is guest of Sri Jain Shwetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh during his stay in Jaipur and Malpura.

He has shown his willingness to meet with me and discuss Jain food traditions and cooking. He is an American researcher on Jainism and visiting Jaipur. Robert Stevens has graduated from the US and worked as a chef in hotel in America. Then he decided to conduct his research for his Ph.D. theses on Jainism. Prof. Brian Brazeal, his teacher and guide contacted me to support his research. It is worth noted that Dr. Brazeal came and stayed in Jaipur for Jain research along with his colleague Lilian Haidar few months back. Lilian, a professinal photographer from New York documented Panchayati temple and Malpura Dadabadi.

Khartar Sangh, Jaipur has been extending hands of support to Jain scholars, academicians, researchers and students. Khartar Gachchh Sangh has a very good Jain library run in Vichakshan Bhawan. This library is center of attraction for the Jain scholars and researchers. Many foreign scholars have visited Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur, stayed here for research during last two years.

 Dr. Rudi Jansma, a Jain scholar from Netherlands (Holland) visited Shivjiram Bhawan today afternoon, May 11, 2012.  He met with Jyoti Kothari, secretary, Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur at his residence and then came to the headquarter of the Sangh. Both of them discussed several topics about Jainism, ecology and environment related issues. Dr. Jansma was introduced with Khartar Gachchh for the first time.

He visited Jain library at Vichkshan Bhawan, saw catalogs and read a book there. He spent lot of time there. He told that there are few libraries in Europe which can match this library. He praised the Sangh for maintaining a Jain library with such collection. Jyoti Kothari informed him that the library is digitized. 

Sri Jain Shwetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur provides several facilities to foreign Jain scholars such as free food and lodging. Khartar Gachchh Sangh has become center of attraction for foreign Jain scholars.

 Dr. Rudi Jansma then proceeded to Sri Suparshwanath Jain temple (Panchayati Mandir) along with the secretary of the Sangh. He spent enough time in the temple viewing Tirthankar idols, beautiful inlay work, gold work in the walls and wall paintings. He was highly impressed with these intigrated carvings and the details of the paintings.

 Sri Mohanlal Daga, treasurer of the Sangh along with Sri Prakash Banthia felicitated Dr. Jansma. Jyoti Kothari invited him to come and stay long at Malpur Dadabadi for research on Jainism. He assured him facilities. Dr. Jansma replied that he would stay at Malpura for his researches in his next visit to India.

This is worth noted that several noted Jain scholars visited Khartar Gachchh Sangh including Prof. John Cort, Denyson University, Prof. Alan Babb, Massachusetts University, Ms. Ellen, New York etc.

Unfolding book by Mahopadhyay Sri Vinaysagar

 Mahopadhyay Sri Vinaysagar is one of the most learned and greatest scholar of Jainism. Especially, he is top in Khartargachchh history. Shri Jain Swetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur has published collection of his research articles about Khartar Gachchh.

 Sri Kamalchand Surana, an eminent businessman unfolded the book in a ceremony at Sanganer Dadabadi on the auspicious day of Kartik Purnima.Sri Vimalchand Surana garlanded Mahopadhyay Sri Vinaysagar, the author. Sri Vijay Mehta felicitated Sri Kamalchand Surana who has unfolded the book.

Unique and Grand new Jain temple in Jaipur

Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, November 28, 2010

Khartar Gachchh Sangh of Jaipur have decided to build and develop an Unique and Grand new  Jain temple at Mohanbadi in Jaipur. Executive committee of the Sangh have decided to build an unique temple of Lord Rishabhdev, Adinath.

Sri Kushal Chand Surana, former President of Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur is convener and Sri Vimal Chand Surana is a member of construction committee of the Jain temple. Construction of the temple will be guided by Pranimitra Sri Kumarpal V Shah, Dholka.

"Bhumipujan" ceremony of the Jain temple will be held on December 8, 2010 on the auspices of sadhwi Sri Maniprabha Sri Ji Maharaj. Mrs. Amar Kumari Surana will conduct the Bhumipujan.

Mohanbadi is situated in Delhi - Mumbai highway near Galta. Several other temples, Dadabadi and Samadhi  situated in Mohanbadi makes it a center of pilgrimage. A Dharamshala with State of art facilities is being build in Mohanbadi for convenience of he pilgrims.

An American research scholar Steven Vose visited library in Malpura Dadabadi on November 26, 2010. Steven Vose is conducting research on Khartar Gachchh Acharya Sri Jinprabha Suri. Steven is a post graduate from Harward University and persuading his Ph. D degree from Pennsylvania University in the US. His topic includes Dada Jin Kushal Suri too. He visited Kekdi and Malpura Dadabadi along with Jyoti Kothari. He also expressed his willingness to a long stay in Malpura Dadabadi to extend his studies

 Sri Jinprabha Suri is a 14th century Jain Acharya belonging to Laghu Khartar Shakha. He is contemporary to Dada Jin Kushal Suri. Jinprabha Suri influenced Mohammad Bin Tuglak, the then Sultan of Delhi. He is among the most famous and influencing Acharya of Khartar Gachchh.

It is worth noted that several European and American scholars are interested in the history and literature of Khartar Gachchh. James Laidlaw, Cambridge University, UK; Josephine Reynell, Oxford University, UK; Lawrence Alan Babb, Massachusetts University, USA; John Cort, Dennison University, USA are few to name. 

"Absent Lord" by Alan Babb is included in the catalog of Khartar Gachchh literature.

It is worth to develop Malpura a study center of Jain and Jainism especially Khartar Gachchh.

Muni Mahendrasagar Ji is requested for next Chaturmas

Param Pujya Muniraj Sri  Mahendrasagar Ji Maharaj stayed in Indore for Chaturmas along with his six desciples. Jyoti Kothari, Secretary, Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur visited him in Indore and stayed with him for couple of days. He invited Sri  Mahendrasagar Ji Maharaj for his next Chaturmas in Jaipur.

Sri  Mahendrasagar Ji is well known for his wisdom, austerity and asceticism. Muni Sri  Manish Sagar ji, his mundane son and disciple is working for his Ph. D based on Management and Jainism. He is well qualified and has a degree in electrical engineering. He also possesses a post graduate degree in Management.

A Jain institute should be opened for research and higher studies in Jainism according to Sri  Mahendrasagar Ji. This type of institute will also help monks and nuns in their studies of Jain philosophy.He emphasized that Swadhyay is the best way to attained salvation.

Navpad Oli is being celebrated in Malpura Dadabadi with enthusiasm

Navpad Oli has a great significance in Jainism. Jain community worship Navpad during these nine days of Navpad Oli. It begins on Ashwin Shukla Saptami and Ends on Ashwin Shukla Purnima, the Sharad Purnima (October 14 to 22, 2010).

Reverend Sadhwi Sri Chandrakala Sri Ji and Maniprabha Sri Ji Maharaj are staying with their disciples in Malpura Dadabadi for Chaturmas. Navpad Oli is being celebrated in their auspices.

Daily Pujan and all Vidhi Vidhan are going on in Malpura. A good number of devotees are observing Ayambil Tap to worship Navpad alias Siddhachakra.

Siddhachakra Mahapujan will be organized on October 20 and Navpad Puja on 21st. There will also be "Ratri Jagaran" (Bhakti Sandhya) on 21 followed by Dadaguru Dev Pujan on the eve of Sharad Purnima on 22nd.
