Amer Mela celebrated in Jaipur



Sri Jain Shwetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur organized Amber Mela celebrating Nandishwar Dweep Poojan at Chandaprabhu temple, Amber on Sunday, October 6, 2013. Members of all sects of Shwetambar Jain had joined this event with enthusiasm. 

 PP Mahopadhyay Lalitprabh Sagar Ji - Chandraprabh Sagar Ji- Shantipriya Sagar Ji Maharaj Sahab started from Shivjiram Bhavan at morning 5.30 with several laymen and women and reached Amer. There was arrangement of breakfast for all foot walkers. 
 Nandishwar Dweep Poojan was followed by Ashta Prakari Pooja of Sri Chandraprabh Swami, the main deity and other deities. Upadhyay Shivchandra, a nineteenth century Khartar ascetic and scholar has composed the Pooja two centuries before at this temple only. Tradition of Pooja is being followed since then. An old replica of Nandishwar Dweep made of wood was brought out for the celebration. There are 52 temples in this replica. 

  As everyone knows Amber Mela at Sri Chandaprabhu temple is symbol of Shwetambar Jain unity in Jaipur. The centuries old tradition is going on till date. Distinguised persons likes of Navratan Kothari, Chairman KGK group, Sumer Chand Bothra, Secretary, Subodh Shiksha Samity, Mahendra Singh Daga and K L Jain, Chairman and Secretary of Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce and Industry respectively joined the ceremony this year along with many other important personalities. Mahendra Singh Daga and K L Jain also hoisted the flag (Dhwajarohan) at the spire of the temple.

The Pooja was followed by Sadhrmi Vatsalya (Lunch) attended by several thousands members of Shwetambar Jain community.
